Regaining Your Self-Esteem

Don't Let the Breakup Break You!

Love Yourself

You were in a relationship and he cheated. It hits you where it hurts the most, your self-esteem. You wonder what you did wrong, or if you are so flawed that nobody will want you and that is the mindset that you need to snap out of! Get your self-esteem back!

You are amazing and nobody has the power to make you feel otherwise! Dry off those tears and put the ice cream back in the refrigerator, it is time to reclaim your self-esteem!

Start with the outside

Looks are not everything, but they can do wonders to help your self-esteem. Ever wanted to try out a new haircut, hair color, outfit, shoes, or change something else about your appearance but just haven't gotten around to it? Well, now might be the time to do it! Pamper yourself and make that change that you have been mulling over. Start over with a fresh new look. You will feel empowered and beautiful with the change so stop just thinking about the change and go do it!

Indulge yourself

Continue the pampering by treating yourself to a manicure and/or a pedicure. Take some time for you and do something that you do not normally do to indulge yourself, like get a massage or visit a spa for a facial treatment. It is all about you so enjoy it!

Turn that frown upside down

Do you know what the one thing is that will make anybody beautiful just by wearing it? A smile! Put on your happy face, even if you do not feel happy. When you smile at people, they smile back and that makes you feel good. Getting good feedback from people makes you feel better about yourself so leave that frown at home and smile.

Stand up straight!

When we are sad, we take on the sad posture, we tend to slouch and slump, and it just gives us an air of sadness. When you are projecting sadness, people tend to leave you alone and that is the worst thing that can happen, being alone with your thoughts! Stand up straight and do not slouch or slump, not only will you look happier and more confident, but you will also feel happier and more confident.

Do something for yourself

Do something that improves yourself or gives you a new experience. Take a vacation, even if it's just for a day or two. Start a new exercise program. You can never go wrong by investing in yourself!

Do something for somebody else

Helping other people is a great way to feel good about yourself. Not only are you being useful but the thanks that you get will be sincere and genuine. Helping others feels good! Help out with projects that your friends and family might have going on or volunteer some time someplace in your community.

Do not isolate yourself

It is tempting to withdraw from the world when you are sad and hurt but all that does is make you feel worse about yourself because you will be reliving the past in your own head repeatedly. Get up and get out! Surround yourself with friends and family because they are the best support group that you can ever find. Being with them will boost that self-esteem and make you feel good about yourself again.

Once you start to feel good about yourself again, you will start to feel happier and more willing to meet new people. Remember, you are amazing and deserve to be treated as such!
